About Theorem
Theorem Media distributes the independent films that matter, films that change how people see the world and, in some cases, change policy and public conversation. Our current slate includes Ask E. Jean, which had its theatrical premiere in May 2026 to real critical attention.
We’re a small, fast-moving team, which means the work is real from day one. No busywork, no waiting years to touch something that matters. You’ll see your ideas become the campaign, not sit in a deck. We work closely together, we move quickly, and we care about doing the work well rather than just doing a lot of it. If you want a job where you can point to specific films and specific campaigns and say “we built that,” this is that kind of place.
This is a fast-paced environment, and it suits someone comfortable with ambiguity who thrives when priorities shift. We test an approach, evaluate the results, and adjust course as a team rather than in isolation. We move quickly during work hours and protect personal time outside of them.
We hire people who are great at what they do and good to the people they do it with. If you love this kind of work and show up that way for your team, you’ll fit here.
The Role
Theorem’s audience is our single most valuable asset, and it’s currently our top organizational priority. This role owns the intelligence layer between our audience infrastructure and our conversion outcomes, not just managing a database, and not just running campaigns, but reading the data, drawing conclusions, and acting on them in real time.
You’ll work directly with the VP & GM to define audience strategy for each incoming film, then own the execution of that strategy end to end: who we reach, how we reach them, whether it’s working, and what we change when it’s not.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the VP & GM to determine the right audience segments and outreach targets for each new film entering the slate
- Build and manage audience acquisition across multiple channels simultaneously, organizational outreach, community pipelines, partner activation, and digital touchpoints, treating every campaign as both a conversion opportunity and a list-building moment
- Oversee the Partnerships Coordinator in building out contact lists, reviewing for fit, not just volume, and making sure the right people and organizations are being pursued
- Own outreach cadence and messaging across all partner and audience touchpoints, including automated outreach flows
- Monitor engagement and conversion in real time: what messaging is landing, what isn’t, and refine as campaigns move
- Own the conversion math, given a screening or ticket-sales goal, calculate how much outreach volume is needed to hit it, and keep the pipeline paced against that number
- Own Theorem’s Airtable infrastructure: structure, data integrity, and ongoing decisions about what needs to change as we scale
- Think in systems. When something works once, figure out how to replicate it across films rather than rebuilding from scratch each time
- Work comfortably with Claude and other AI tools as part of daily workflow, building automations, refining processes, and questioning whether there’s a better way to do the work
Who You Are
- 3+ years in audience development, growth marketing, CRM/database management, or a related outreach-heavy role
- Able to commit 35-40 hours per week. This is not a fit for part-time or fractional availability, regardless of how strong the rest of your background is
- Genuinely energized by data and detail, comfortable living inside a spreadsheet or database daily in order to be constantly making things better
- Systems thinker: you default to “how do we build this so it scales” rather than “how do we get this one thing done”
- Experience managing or mentoring at least one direct report
- Fluent in Airtable specifically, since that’s the system you’ll be working in from day one, plus strong Excel/Sheets skills
- Comfortable using Claude specifically as part of your core workflow, not just AI tools in the abstract
- This is not a paid media or performance marketing role. Comfort with paid acquisition (Meta, Google Ads) is a plus, not a substitute, for owning conversion and database work end to end
- Documentary, nonfiction, or nonprofit/cause-campaign experience is a plus, not a requirement. We’re equally open to candidates from advocacy campaigns, growth or lifecycle marketing, or audience development in media, podcasts, or newsletters, the core skill is turning outreach into measurable conversion
